The Chandler Police Department has released a body-cam video that shows a man trying to run over officers last month with his RV.
According to a report, Chandler police received a call on Saturday, July 24 from a homeowner stating that an unknown RV was parked on her property. She added that both of these houses were once known as “druggie homes”.
Officers arrived at the house to find Arnold Serrano (32), barricading his self inside the RV. Officers tried to protect themselves while Serrano drove straight at them through the gate. The police then fired at Serrano’s RV, as he drove off. In an apparent attempt to escape officers, Serrano was said to have sped up 100 mph. The RV finally crashed into a car on Dobson and Frye roads.
According to police, Serrano suffered injuries in the accident. He had been shot multiple times before he drove towards officers. Serrano was taken to the hospital by officers who arrived.
According to police paperwork, detectives discovered ammunition and a gun inside Serrano’s RV wreckage during the investigation.
According to Chandler police officers, Serrano is recommended to face the following charges: 12 counts of aggravated attack involving a deadly weapon, aggravated assault on an officer, criminal trespass, unlawful flight from authorities, and failure to remain at an accident.
The shooting did not result in any injuries to officers. This was the 40th shooting in Maricopa County that involved law enforcement in 2021.
