Family members searching for a missing man say they found signs of him at an old campsite, according to a police news release.
Juneau Police Department stated in a press release that Joseph Clayton (48), was last seen Friday morning. Later that day, his car was found at the Auke lake boat launch.
Family members looking for Clayton found personal belongings at an abandoned campsite near Auke Lake Way, Mendenhall Loop Road, on Tuesday. Campbell stated that the reason the belongings were left in the woods was unknown.
Southeast Alaska Dogs Organized for Ground Search searched for Clayton but could not find him.
Clayton is 6’2″ tall and weighs approximately 220 lbs. Clayton was last seen wearing a T-shirt and jeans. Clayton’s family offers a $5,000 reward for his live return and asks that the community keep an eye on him.
