Фонд лагерей ухода has announced the members of its inaugural Young Professionals Board, a new leadership group created to support fundraising, community engagement and special events benefiting children with cancer across the United States and Canada.
The board includes emerging professionals from the outdoor hospitality, RV, camping, recreation and business sectors.
According to the organization, the initiative is designed to strengthen long-term donor engagement while involving younger industry leaders in philanthropic efforts tied to pediatric oncology camps.
One of the board’s primary objectives will be organizing and leading an annual signature fundraising event intended to bring together industry professionals and outdoor enthusiasts in support of children with cancer and their families.
“The Young Professionals Board represents an exciting opportunity to unite individuals who are passionate about leadership, philanthropy, and creating meaningful experiences that support children with cancer and their families,” Jenna Berneck, development director for Care Camps Foundation, said.
“This group will play an important role in creating new fundraising opportunities while also building long-term relationships with the outdoor hospitality and RV communities,” Berneck added.
According to a press release, Garett McKinnon, chair of the Young Professionals Board and chief revenue officer at Campground Views, said the group is focused on developing a large-scale fundraising event hosted at a campground.
“One of the projects we are most excited about is creating a signature fundraising event hosted at a campground featuring weekend-long festivities, outdoor experiences, and a banquet recognizing some of Care Camps Foundation’s most impactful partners and supporters,” McKinnon said. “We believe it can become a meaningful event that brings people together around a shared purpose.”
The board’s confirmed members represent organizations across the RV and outdoor hospitality industries, including Kampgrounds of America (KOA), Campers Inn RV, Cummins, Campspot, Forest River, RV Women’s Alliance and American Camp Association, among others.
Lexi Roberts, co-chair of the Young Professionals Board, said the initiative creates opportunities for emerging leaders to support pediatric oncology camping programs through industry events and outreach efforts.
Care Camps Foundation said it has provided funding for medically supervised pediatric oncology camps for more than 40 years. The nonprofit currently supports 126 camps serving more than 47,000 children and family members annually throughout the United States and Canada.
