A camping and glamping business in Pembrokeshire has received the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for the fifth consecutive year, placing it among the top-rated hospitality businesses on the platform based on guest reviews collected over the previous 12 months.
Stackpole Under the Stars, located near Pembroke within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, was recognized in Tripadvisor’s 2025 Travelers’ Choice Awards. The annual awards recognize destinations, accommodations, restaurants, and attractions that consistently receive positive feedback from travelers.
According to Tripadvisor, award recipients rank among the top 10% of listings on the platform based on the quality and quantity of reviews submitted by guests over a one-year period.
The family-run business offers a small-scale accommodation model that includes five camping pitches, two handmade yurts, two safari tents, and a luxury en-suite pod. Situated close to attractions including Barafundle Bay, Bosherston Lily Ponds, and Freshwater West, the site caters to both families and dog owners seeking outdoor accommodation in the region.
The property occupies North Lodge, formerly the northern gatehouse to the historic Stackpole Estate, according to the Вестерн Телеграф. Visitors enter through Grade II-listed stone gate pillars that once formed part of the approach to Stackpole Court during the 19th century.
In addition to accommodation, the site offers a range of guest amenities and activities. These include a small on-site store, Siop Fach Dwt, operating from a converted yard shed, as well as a food service featuring wood-fired pizzas prepared for guests.
The pizzas are cooked in an outdoor kitchen area known as The Smoke Yard, which is housed within a converted bottling shed. Recreational offerings include axe-throwing sessions for guests aged eight and older, with additional activities available for younger children.
Since 2022, the property has received 226 reviews on Tripadvisor. Of those, 221 reviews awarded the business a five-star rating, while the remaining five reviews gave it four stars. The review record contributed to the site’s latest Travelers’ Choice recognition.
“A huge thank you to our wonderful guests over the past 12 months, who have helped us to win our fifth Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice award in a row,” said the Stackpole Under the Stars team.
“We are so grateful to everyone who takes the time to review us online, or recommends us in any way. It really does help a small business like ours.
“We seem to be told these days that if your review ratings are too high then people are suspicious; that it puts your credibility in question.
“But reviews – essentially good old-fashioned word of mouth – are so important to a small business and they really do make a difference.
“We are proud to have almost 100 percent five-star reviews online and delighted that they help influence our new guests to come and enjoy holidays with us.”
For outdoor hospitality operators, the recognition highlights the growing role that online reputation management continues to play in attracting guests.
As consumers increasingly rely on review platforms when selecting campgrounds, glamping accommodations, RV parks, and holiday parks, maintaining consistent service quality and encouraging guest feedback can have a measurable impact on visibility, booking decisions, and long-term business performance.
The award also demonstrates how smaller independent properties can compete effectively in a crowded marketplace by focusing on guest experience and generating sustained positive reviews over time.
