As the world continues to grapple with the stress and anxiety brought on by the pandemic, many are turning to the great outdoors for solace.
California State Parks, First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and the California Natural Resources Agency are leading the charge in providing Californians with more opportunities to explore the state’s natural beauty and enjoy the many benefits of spending time in nature.
The state has rolled out three new initiatives to increase access to state parks and recreational opportunities for all Californians, regardless of their financial situation.
California State Park Adventure Pass, Library Parks Pass, and Golden Bear Pass are all designed to make it easier for residents to enjoy the state’s world-renowned natural beauty.
The Adventure Pass, for example, is aimed at fourth graders and allows them to explore 19 select parcuri de stat for free for a full school year.
Meanwhile, the Library Parks Pass can be checked out by all Californians using their library cards and provides access to over 200 participating state park units.
Finally, families receiving CalWORKs, individuals receiving SSI, and income-eligible Californians 62 and over can apply for the Golden Bear Pass and access over 200 California state park de unități.
The State of California is committed to expanding access to parks, open spaces, nature, and cultural amenities to all its residents, regardless of their financial situation.
This is a priority for Governor Gavin Newsom and his administration, who are working to build a “California for All.”
California Natural Resurse Agency Secretary Wade Crowfoot said, “These easy-to-use programs give all Californians a chance to experience our world-renowned nature. Sign up for one of these programs or check out a park pass from your local library and discover a new state park this weekend!”
