The Dorset Council rejected the application of a “Winnebago-type” vehicle and a caravan to remain on the grounds of the Grange Road hotel.
These vehicles have been parked near authorized staff accommodations for more than a decade.
The council concluded that although the caravan may have been on-site for more than ten years, there was no evidence that either had been used as staff accommodation for that length of time, making it unqualified for lawful use.
“Officers consider that in the absence of clear evidence to support the case, the certificate cannot be supported… there is a lack of evidence for the required timeframe to be able to find in support of the certificate,” said the council report.
