The council has announced a new height barrier is to be installed at Fort Perch car park in New Brighton.
The new barrier will be in place on August 23 and will prohibit vehicles over 2.3m from parking in the car park.
The barrier will stop RVs from using the car park because many of them are over 2.6m high.
The report mentioned a spokesperson for Wirral Council who said the measure has been brought in to “assist with managing parking provision at the site and has been introduced in collaboration with regular users of the car park to ensure access can be gained for stakeholders and partners as required.”
“The barrier has an elevation restriction of 2.2 meters. All vehicles below this height will not be allowed to enter the car park.”
“Once the height barrier has been locked, it can be used for controlling the number of vehicles above this height as well as to manage parking provision in an area with high demand.”
“This work was done in collaboration and with stakeholders and partners who require regular access to the parking lot to ensure that there is no disruption to service and that access can be obtained when needed,” the report added.
