Lancashire, United Kingdom-based Preston Caravans and Motorhomes is setting its course for the Ukraine border tomorrow (April 6) to provide relief efforts to the victims of war.
“We have pledged to take a convoy to the Poland/Ukraine border. Our drivers will be volunteers from our Preston Caravans team,” Preston Caravans wrote in a statement published on its website. Joining the team will be a Polish/Ukrainian interpreter and a volunteer who has already completed a trip to the border.
The volunteer team will be bringing with them specialized medical equipment, winter baby clothes, satellite phones, and walkie-talkies.
The company will be bringing an RV which will serve as a support vehicle to aid those who might require medical or child nursing needs on the road, while it brings home 36 refugees who will be reunited with their family, friends, or sponsors all over the UK and Europe. The UK company will be working with the Ukraine Border Action throughout this process.
Preston Caravans will also be utilizing two minibusses to transport people as well as a transit van to move aid and luggage.
The RV dealer is calling for financial support as it estimates expenses to reach around £12,000.
“Any contribution towards fuel, accommodation on the return journey, ferry crossings, or food for our convoy would be greatly appreciated,” the company said.
Donors can expect the reporting of costs to be transparent to see for themselves how their contributions have helped, said Preston Caravans. The RV dealer will also be updating its social media throughout the initiative. Should the company receive more donations than it currently needs, it will put the funds towards a second trip.
