The Sandford holiday park in Holton Heath is to swap 22 tent pitches in exchange for 14 Glamping units, a report said.
Dorset Council has given consent to the modification to the Organford Road site which is managed by the Parkdean Resorts group.
Wareham St. Martin parish council had no objection to the proposed change.
The campsite currently has permission for 285 pitches to accommodate caravans and tents. 25 of which have to be reserved for tents.
The glamping areas will measure 10m x 10m and will have a safari tent set on a wooden foundation with the capacity to accommodate four people. It will also be offering an open kitchenette as well as a lounge that includes bathroom facilities and showers that are shared by occupants.
The consent stipulates that in addition to the wooden foundations, the site is required to be cleared between the 7th of January and March 5th every year.
Parkdean claims that the changes will provide services that reflect the developments in the market and will also lead to the reduction of traffic.
