An actor has submitted a proposal for a new glamping facility in Laois (Ireland).
Charlie Hughes, who has performed on stage and in TV productions, including Fair City, Red Rock, Iscariot, Pygmalion, and Waiting for Godot, says that the Happy Human Glamping glampsite would provide “a vacation for body and mind.”
He has sought permission to build a glamping site near his residence at Mullaghmore, Wolfhill in South Laois.
The applicant plans to host workshops on the premises in health, confidence-building, team building, and presentations to businesses and other groups.
It will comprise six self-contained glamping pods, reception, workshop, canteen, and toilet facilities as well as an effluent treatment system and percolation area.
The plan is to have three three-meter diameter bell tents and three bell tents of five meters.
He also wants permission to maintain his family’s “den” cabin and as a “writing oasis.”
The planners have asked that the applicant prove a necessity for glamping facilities in the vicinity.
They also request that a Natura Impact Statement be completed to determine whether the workshop is openly accessible to the public and if parking would be available.
