Algonquin Park Backcountry Camping to Close Due to Spring Conditions

Spring is here, which means backcountry camping in the Algonquin Park (Ontario, Canada) won’t be permitted from April 1 to May 13.

As per a report, campers will not be able to book a backcountry site for various reasons, including changes to the ice cover on lakes, accessibility challenges, and safety issues.

First come, first served sites are not also available.

The restrictions are scheduled to remain in effect until May 13. However, park staff will consider allowing backcountry reservations to open if conditions permit.
