The Columbia Valley Disc Golf Club has created an 18-hole professional disc golf course at Raven’s Nest Resort & Campground in Fairmont Hot Springs, British Columbia, a report said.
The course offers a vast range of unique landscapes of the Columbia Valley, specifically jaw-dropping views of the valley, mountains, and wetlands.
The course will be “the first of its kind in the valley,” says Emily Slobodzian, co-owner of Raven’s Nest Resort & Campground, and her partner Faro Burgoyne. Raven’s Nest opened mid-summer 2019 and has been unwaveringly improving since its operations began, offering traditional camping and glamping.
The course’s construction began earlier this year with the assistance of Jesse Tomalty, a local disc golf professional who has four career victories according to the PDGA (Professional Disc Golf Association).
Tomalty “designed the course and led the crew through clearing brush, installing the baskets, building tee boxes, and making trails all through untouched land,” Slobodzian adds.
A recent disc golf event was also held at the campground. The event called “The Rumble at The Raven’s Nest” was organized by Tomalty, where he also served as tournament director. The event was open to all players regardless of their experience via the PDGA. Two rounds were played on October 16 and one on October 17.
