British Columbia Royal Canadian Mounted Police reports that its Southeast Major Crimes Unit is investigating an accident at a campground in East Kootenay.

Officers were called to the campsite Creston on Aug. 30 but did not provide further details, a report said.

They said there was no threat to the public, and they would provide more information later in Friday’s day.

Social media claims that the incident involved a 4-year-old child. However, the police have not confirmed this.

Facebook friends and family posted that the boy suffered severe brain damage after a head injury and was on life support. They are worried that he won’t recover.
