The funding is part of the government’s most recent cycle of Tourism Industry Development Fund.
NRMA Victor Harbor Beachfront Holiday Park will receive $195,170 toward their $650,587 plan to construct six beachfront safari tents with bathrooms and areas for socializing for glampers.
According to a recent release, Discovery Parks Goolwa has also received $500,000 for their $11.37 million projects. The projects will be able to provide 23 new cabins, three new three-bedroom houses, 86 powered sites, amenity blocks, camp kitchens, barbeque shelters, footpaths, road access, and a new water park.
The Member of Parliament of the House Finniss David Basham said the Tourism Industry Development Fund provides South Australian regional tourism operators with financial support to aid the development of facilities in the region.
“This new funding is a fantastic result for the Fleurieu Peninsula and will help further enhance our region as a must-visit destination,” Basham said.
“These holiday parks see a huge influx of tourists, especially during warmer months, and having more provisions will only increase the quality of this experience in our beautiful seaside towns.
More than $12.9 million from the Tourism Industry Development Fund has been allocated since December of 2020.
A range of funds ranging from $20,000 to $500,000 will be available to successful applicants. This fund of $20 million will close in 2022 on March 31 or until all funds are allocated.
