According to a report, the main street of Queensland’s Kumbia town will soon be an attractive entry point to the South Burnett region. The report also mentioned that plans for the town might include a new RV park and dump station in the future.

Islands or peninsulas of tall trees and native plants will transform the main street into a beautiful southern gateway. According to the current plans, the town also aims to create access ramps from the roadway to the footpath to assist persons with disabilities. At the same time, the double parking zone for semitrailers will be maintained. The parking in front of Apex Park is also set to be reconstructed to accommodate big RVs.

Other plans, such as the restoration of Apex Park, the construction of new walking trails, as well as the creation of an RV Park and dump station away from the main street, are likely to be the focus of plans yet to be outlined and submitted.

South Burnett Mayor Brett Otto stated that the budget could need to be increased to keep up with the increasing costs of construction materials.

Council has set aside $250,000 in its budget for the current project, including creating a prominently-placed bus shelter that features an etched steel artwork. There will also be a vertical lantern and a community noticeboard, as well as a pedestrian crossing in the northern portion of the road. The project is scheduled to complete by Christmas next year.

The improvement of Bell Street is the most noticeable aspect in the South Burnett Regional Council‘s Kumbia revitalization plan that was announced at a town meeting last week.
