Go RVing Board Votes To Fund RV Technician Recruitment

In line with Go RVing’s mission to help RV consumers, the Go RVing Board of Directors last week approved to allocate $2 per seal assessment to cover costs associated with hiring more techs to aid in the growth of the RV market, according to an RV Industry Association News & Insights report.

The funds will go towards the RV Technical Institute (RVTI) to help them ramp up recruiting new techs in 2022. Earlier this week, the RVIA Board of Directors and the National RV Dealers Association Board of Directors supported the new funds.

Since the inception of RVTI, the RV industry has made a multimillion-dollar investment into RV service technician training through the RV Technical Institute,” stated RV Industry Association the President and Director Craig Kirby. With the basis for the RVTI program established over

“Since the inception of RVTI, the RV industry has made a multimillion-dollar investment into RV service technician training through the RV Technical Institute,” said RVIA President & CEO Craig Kirby.

“With the foundation of the RVTI program built over the past two years, the team is now turning its focus to recruiting new techs into the industry. With this new investment from Go RVing, the RVTI team will be able to deliver on its commitment to improve the consumer experience by training and recruiting more techs to service the millions of RVs on the road today and tomorrow.”

The RV dealer community is fully invested in technician training and improving the service experience of every RVer,” said National RV Dealer’s Association President Phil Ingrassia.

“The industry has seen incredible growth, and it is more critical than ever to ensure there is an adequate number of trained RV service technicians to service our millions of new RV customers.”

Next year, RVTI plans to recruit at the very least 1,000 new RV technicians from outside of the RV industry. The process will involve an extensive marketing campaign and collaborations with other organizations outside of the field, such as trade schools, high schools, and even government training programs.

RVTI will also make it easier to implement technician training by introducing a service that will make training more convenient and cost-effective for RV dealerships. They will also work together with the existing RV dealerships throughout the United States to ensure at least one trained technician from RVTI in 750 dealerships.
