Bishan Campground, located in Taipei‘s (Taiwan) Neihu District, is officially opening a new camping area to the public on April 1, according to the city’s Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO).
As per a report, the campground is situated between Mt. Daluntou and Mt. Dalunwei near Bishan Temple and Baishihu Suspension Bridge.
The nearly finished Forest Camping Area was established among forest trails to alleviate the problem of a lack of campsites, GEO Forest Recreation Section Chief Pan Hsin-Yuan (Pan the Xin Yuan) stated.
As per the GEO press release, the area now has eight campsites, four shower rooms, and an 80-meter elevated corridor that connects northern and southern campgrounds.
Bishan Campground is home to 37 campsites that can accommodate 200 campers simultaneously. The shower facilities offer hot water to 23 campers all at once.
Since there isn’t much light pollution at the campground, it’s perfect for stargazing and overlooking the cityscape at night, Pan added.
Camping is free. Anyone interested in camping can do so via the TaipeiPASS app seven to 30 days in advance.
