This includes the fact that the country has passed the 50% threshold for adult vaccinations nationwide before the deadline of August 31, according to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, caretaker prime minister.
Operators must make sure customers have their digital Covid-19 vaccination certificates for dine-in and market meals. Muhyiddin stated that children under 17 years old are allowed to enter, the report added.
Children under 17 years old are allowed to take part in camping, sports, and picnics.
Muhyiddin stated that the implementation of SOPs is the responsibility of premise owners, government ministries, and agencies.
The statement said that “if there are any infections in these premises, the Ministry of Health will immediately take action. This includes conducting a risk assessment and not discounting the possibility of closing down any affected premises or areas. Other than issuing compounds for those who display the SOPs.”
These decisions were made at today’s special meeting of the National Security Council, chaired and attended by Muhyiddin, the director-generals for ministries, directors generals of public service and immigration, as well as other senior government officials, the report mentioned.
The latest guidelines, dated Aug 16, states and federal territories included in Phase 1 are Kedah, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya.
